The tooth surface of the gear coupling is seriously worn and the lubricating grease needs to be replaced

gear coupling

The common faults of the gear coupling in use include serious wear of the gear surface of the coupling, large axial displacement of the gear ring of the coupling, tooth breakage and bolt breakage. The main reasons are as follows. The oil quantity of the gear coupling is insufficient or lack of oil, which forms the calcification of grease, resulting in the failure of lubrication between the tooth surfaces, and the bad lubrication causes the serious wear of the tooth surfaces; We replace the lubricating grease and inject qualified lubricating grease oil on time to prevent oil leakage. If the oil quantity is sufficient, it can be prevented. The levelness and coaxiality errors of the two shafts are too large, which makes the shaft teeth mesh with the internal teeth to form a full pair of contact, and increases the torque. This kind of fault is difficult to deal with, so it is necessary to stop production and deal with it, and just re-align the accelerator.

The reasons for tooth wear of gear coupling are basically similar. In addition to the normal force, the connecting bolt is also subject to additional bending moment, which causes it to break. This reason is mostly caused by the large difference in levelness inside and outside the main shaft of the accelerator. The bolt diameter is small, the strength is not enough or the bolt material is poor, which can also constitute the bolt breaking phenomenon. The spacing between the shaft sleeves at both ends is too wide, which causes the non-metallic diaphragm to bear a large axial force, thus causing the fastening bolts to wear and make an abnormal noise. Excessive axial or angular direction will also cause vibration of equipment during operation; When the rotating speed of the automatic shaft and the automatic shaft are not consistent, abnormal noise will also occur when the equipment is running.

For various reasons, the centroid or inertia of the gear coupling does not coincide with its axis of acceleration. When the torque of the gear coupling exceeds the allowable value, it may deform and reduce its service life. If frequent forward and reverse rotation is required, the rated torque shall be 3 times of the rated torque of the motor. There is no edge contact at the angle of inclination between shafts and the smaller the concentrated load of gear teeth is, the better. The curvature of the tooth surface is proportional to the bulge circumference, so the radius of the bulge circle is as large as possible. The bearing capacity of the gear coupling needs certain maintenance, so that its service life will be longer.
